1. Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai – 2000
Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai was directed by Rakesh Roshan and co-starred Ameesha Patel, Anupam Kher and Dalip Tahil. Film was made with budget of INR180 million and grossed INR615 million at box office, it was the biggest hit of year. It was debut was both Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel. Hrithik became superstar overnight, there were millions of girls ready to marry him, daily he used to receive thousands of love letters from all over India. Film tells the story of sincere police officer who cann’t save an young son because of fatwa issued by terrorist group forbidding doctors to treat the injured. After the death police officer takes oath to avenge his death.

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham was directed by Karan Johar and co-starred Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Jaya Bachchan, Kajol and Kareena Kapoor. Film was made with budget of INR400 million and grossed INR1.17 billion at box office. Film tells the story of old rich businessman who had two sons , one adopted and another natural born. Adopted son falls in love with a girl but his father opposes their marriage, he promises his father that he won’t marry her but later marries her. His father becomes angry and says he is his son. The second son tries to unite both of them.

Film has little resemblance with Hollywood film E.T. Extra-Terrestrial released in 1982.
