Short biography

Telugu comedian Brahmanandam was born on 1st February 1956 in Sattenapalli, Andhra Pradesh state. He attended high school at Sattenapalli, D.N.R College, Bhimavaram and University PG Center, Guntur. He holds post graduation degree in Telugu literature from Andhra University. During his school days only he used participate in cultural activities as a mimicry artist and won several prizes. After completion of his masters Brahmanandam worked as Telugu language lecturer in Atthilli for almost a decade, where he imitated his own colleagues. He entered the films with Jandhyala’s movie ‘Chantabbai’ and from there onwards he went on to work for others languages also. He is popular for his comedy timings and dialogue delivery. As for today Brahmanandam holds the Guinness World Record for appearing in highest number of films, over 1000 movies as on the date of record. Considering his contribution to the movies he was honoured with Padma Shri Award by the Govt of India in 2009.

Brahmanandam was born as the 7th son of Kannaganti Lakshmi Narsamma and Kanneganti Nagalingachari.

Brahmanandam is married to Lakshmi Kanneganti.

Sons

The couple gave birth to two sons named Raja Goutham & Siddharth. Raja Goutham made his film debut with Pallakilo Pelli Kuturu in 2004 opposite Rathi, Giri Babu etc. Goutham is married to Jyothsna, daughter of cinematographer Srinivas Reddy since 24th October 2012.
