Short biography
Aamir Khan was born on 14th Mar 1965 in Mumbai to Tahir Hussain and Zeenat Hussain. His birth name is Mohammed Aamir Hussain Khan. His paternal uncle Nasir Hussain was a Bollywood director and producer. Aamir has a younger brother and two younger sisters. Aamir Khan went to J.B. Petit School, St. Anne’s High School, Bombay Scottish School and Narsee Monjee College. He made his child debut when he was just 8 years old with Yaadon Ki Baaraat in 1973 alongside Dharmendra, Vijay Arora and Zeenat Aman. He made Bollywood acting debut with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak 1988 opposite Juhi Chawla, Alok Nath and Dalip Tahil. Aamir ventured into film production with Aamir Khan Productions in 2001, Lagaan starring Aamir Khan and Gracy Singh was the first movie out of his own production house. His film Lagaan was nominated for Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and won National Film Award. Aamir was honoured with Padma Shri Award and Padma Bhushan Award by Govt of India. He is a social activist and hosted Tv show named Satyamev Jayate aired on Star Network which raised several sensitive social issues.

Aamir’s father Tahir Hussain was born in 1938 Uttar Pradesh. He was a film director, actor and producer, he directed Aamir’s Tum Mere Ho in 1990. Father Tahir Hussain died of heart attack on 2nd Feb 2010. His mother Zeenat Hussain was a home maker.

Brother
He has a younger brother named Faisal Khan born on 1st Sep 1966. He made his Bollywood film debut as a child artist with Pyar Ka Mausam in 1969. It was reported that he had some psychological problems and there was battle between Aamir Khan and his father Tahir Hussain, in 2007 his father Tahir Hussain was awarded custody of Faisal Khan.

His uncle Nasir Hussain was born on 3rd Feb 1931 in Bhopal. He is a Bollywood director, screenwriter and producer. He produced Aamir Khan’s film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak starring Juhi Chawla and Dalip Tahil in 1988 and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander starring Ayesha Jhulka and Mamik Singh in 1992.

His nephew Imran Khan was born on 13rd Jan 1983 Madison, U.S.A. Imran moved to India after his parents were divorced. Imran Khan made his acting debut with Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na in 2008 alongside Genelia D’Souza and Prateik Babbar.

Aamir Khan married Reena Dutta on 18 April 1986. Reena played a small role in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak alongside Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla. The couple gave birth to two children named Junaid, a son and Ira, a daughter. Aamir filed for divorce in 2002 and Reena had the custody of children.

His wife Kiran Rao worked as an assistant to Ashutosh Gowariker for Lagaan. Aamir married Kiran Rao on 28th Dec 2005. The couple had a son named Azad Rao Khan on 5th Dec 2011 through a surrogate.
