Short biography
Ashutosh Rana was born on 10th November 1964 in Gadarwara, Madhya Pradesh state. After finishing his primary education in Gadarwara he attended Dr. Hari Singh Gour University and subsequently went to National School of Drama, New Delhi.
He is a staunch devotee of his guru known as “Dadda Ji”, who suggested him to choose film career. Dadda Ji advised him to meet film maker Mahesh Bhatt and start his career with any project the title of which starts with the letter “S” and hence he made his acting debut with television serial Swabhimaan in 1995. He subsequently worked for serials like Farz, Sazish, Kabhi Kabhi, Kaali- Ek Agnipariksha, etc. He also hosted television shows like Baazi Kiski, Sarkaar Ki Duniya etc.
Ashutosh Rana made his film debut in 1998 with Dushman in a negative role co-starring Sanjay Dutt, Kajol and Jas Arora. During his decades long film career he appeared in more than 200 films, including major commercial successful films like Awarapan co-starred Emraan Hashmi, Shriya Saran and Mrinalini Sharma, Kalyug co-starring Emraan Hashmi, Kunal Khemu and Amrita Singh, Venky co-starring Ravi Teja, Sneha and Brahmanandam, Raaz co-starring Bipasha Basu, Dino Morea and Malini Sharma, among other films.

Ashutosh Rana is married to actress Renuka Shahane and the couple gave birth to two sons named Shouryaman and Satyendra. She studied Arts from Mithibai college and made her film debut with Marathi film Hach Sunbaicha Bhau. Renuka Shahane’s first marriage was short-lived.
