Short biography
Paresh Rawal was born on 30th May 1950 in Mumbai, Maharashtra State. He attended Narsee Monjee College of Commerce & Economics,Vile Parle, Mumbai. He made his acting debut in 1984 through Bollywood film Holi in a small role. His major role was in 1986 blockbuster Naam. His career took big break after the super hit film Hera Pheri released in 2000 co-starring Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and Tabu, he earned his first Filmfare Best Comedian Award for his performance.
He subsequently appeared in numerous commercially successful films like Himmatwala co-starring Ajay Devgan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Mahesh Manjrekar and Zarina Wahab, OMG – Oh My God! co-starring Akshay Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty, Om Puri and Mahesh Manjrekar, Ready co-starring Salman Khan, Asin and Mahesh Manjrekar, De Dana Dan, Shankar Dada MBBS, Welcome,Bhool Bhulaiyaa, among other films.
Apart from films he also worked for Television serials like Bante Bighadte and Chunauti aired in 1984-1985 on Doordarshan. He contested in 2014 Lok Sabha Elections from Bharatiya Janata Party and won the Ahmedabad East constituency.
