Rakul Preet Singh was born on 10th October 1990 in New Delhi. She attended Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan and Jesus and Mary College, University of Delhi. She is a very good golf player and participated in national level tournaments. Even from her school days she wanted to be an actress. She took part in Famina Miss India – 2011 and won four titles named Pantaloons Femina Miss Fresh Face, Femina Miss Beautiful Smile, Femina Miss Talented and Femina Miss Beautiful Eyes.

Rakul Preet Singh made her acting debut with Kannada film Gilli co-starring Gururaj Jaggesh and Yethiraj Jaggesh in 2009 but the film failed to impress box-office. She subsequently worked for numerous commercial hits like Thadaiyara Thaakka co-starring Arun Vijay and Mamta Mohandas, Venkatadri Express co-starring Sundeep Kishan and Brahmaji, Yaariyan co-starring Himansh Kohli and Nicole Faria, Current Theega co-starring Srinivas Gudur, Jagapati Babu and Sunny Leone, Loukyam co-starring Gopichand, Brahmanandam, Hamsa Nandini and Mukesh Rishi, among other films.
