Short biography
Moon Moon Sen was born on 28th March 1948 into a Hindu family in Calcutta, West Bengal state. She attended Loreto Convent, Shillong, Loreto House, Calcutta, Somerville College, Oxford and Jadavpur University, Kolkata. She holds masters degree in Comparative Literature from Jadavpur University. She also learnt painting from popular Indian artist Jamini Roy and great collector of paintings and antiques.
She started her film career after her marriage and motherhood, her acting debut was with Bollywood film Andar Baahar co-starring Anil Kapoor, Danny Denzongpa and Jackie Shroff in 1984. During her decades long career she worked for Bengali, Hindi, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Bollywood films. Apart from films she also appeared in over 40 Television shows and few tele-films.
She is also active in politics, she joined Trinamool Congress in 2014 and contested for 2014 Lok Sabha Polls from Bankura constituency, West Bengal and won.
