Short biography
Archana Puran Singh was born on 26th September 1962 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand state. She made her acting debut in 1987 through Jalwa alongside Naseeruddin Shah. Though the film was a blockbuster hit she failed to gain recognition for her performance and her career was on steady phase without any surprises.
Archana Puran Singh subsequently appeared in numerous commercially successful films like Shola Aur Shabnam co-starring Govinda, Divya Bharati, Gulshan Grover and Mohnish Behl, Raja Hindustani co-starring Aamir Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Johnny Lever, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai co-starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji and Salman Khan, Mohabbatein co-starring Shahrukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Uday Chopra and Aishwarya Rai, Krrish co-starring Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Naseeruddin Shah and Rekha, Masti, Bol Bachchan, among other films.
Apart from films she also worked for Television shows like Wah, Kya Scene Hai, Uncensored, Shrimaan Shrimati, etc. She took part in dance reality show Nach Baliye (Season 1) in 2005 with her husband. She hosted reality dance show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa(season 1) in 2006. Later she appeared as a judge in Comedy Circus series.
