Short biography
Supriya Pathak was born on 7th January 1961 in Mumbai, Maharashtra state, India. She started her career in theatre plays and subsequently made her film debut in 1981 through Kalyug and won her first Filmfare Award for her performance. She subsequently appeared in successful films Vijeta co-starring Shashi Kapoor, Rekha, Kunal Kapoor and Amrish Puri, Bazaar co-starring Farooq Shaikh, Smita Patil and Naseeruddin Shah, Gandhi co-starring Candice Bergen, Masoom co-starring Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi, Dharm Aur Qanoon co-starring Rajesh Khanna and Dharmendra, among other films.
Supriya Pathak made her come back after 11 years of hiatus from acting in 2005 and appeared in Bewafaa which failed in box office. She later appeared in box office hits like Sarkar co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Katrina Kaif, Sarkar Raj co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Wake Up Sid co-starring Ranbir Kapoor, Konkona Sen Sharma and Anupam Kher, Mausam co-starring Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, Shanghai co-starring Abhay Deol, Emraan Hashmi and Kalki Koechlin, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, All Is Well, among other films.
