Interview excerpts
“I couldn’t have asked for more. My audiences love watching my films. My producers and directors know my potential. I’ve had my share of successes and flops and have learnt to balance both.”
“Sunny has always treated me like his son. No brother will go out of his way when his brother’s first film is being made. He had stopped working when my first film was being made. He was only concentrating on my film. No one does that. You don’t put your career at stake and look after your brother’s film. He is everything to me. He’s a pillar in my life. He’s my strength. And when I was growing up, he used to be strict with me. So in a way he treated me like his child.”
” I do not care for others’ remarks about my looks or my hairstyle. My hairstyle has remained the same since I joined the film industry. I am a bit shy. I feel slightly uneasy when my life book opens before the public.”
“I always knew I wanted to be an actor and it was easy for me to get a break in Bollywood because of my dad. But once you enter the industry, I think it’s your work that speaks for you. You really need to be able to sustain in the industry. Only if you’re a good actor, directors would want to work with you.”
