It was made with budget of INR3 crore and grossed INR11.75 crore at box office, becoming super hit of the year. It was Ajay Devgan’s debut film. Ajay Devgn won Filmfare Best Male Debut Award for his performance. Phool Aur Kaante was inspired from Malayalam film Parampara released in 1990.
